Hi beautiful peoples! So I have had my stereo go offline again. It did this a couple of weeks ago, sound is muffled and wiring probably stuffed. Then it fixed itself but only for few days then went back to muffled sound!!! arghhhh! Bloody thing! Any help or advice would be cool

Hey Matthew, yeh really. Geez alternator problems •••- what prices am I looking at there? My car is getting serviced today so I might ask them to have a look at it.

Don't panic too much as it could be something totally unrelated to what my car went thru.
My stereo would randomly get louder or quieter, and make popping noises from time to time, and go all muffled.
Eventually the charge warning came up on the dash - my alternator was totally shot as it had been bodged by a previous repairer. First I tried replacing the regulator etc, and that didn't help - so in the end I replaced the alternator with a brand new one - I think at the time I didn't get much change from $1000, but thats over 5 years ago now, and I had a cooling system leak that I had to fix at the same time which was also expensive (from memory the whole lot ended up costing me over $2000)
After replacing it the stereo was totally normal again.

ok just an update it has been 3 weeks and still n clear radio sound from the car. SAD SO SAD!!!
I have taken it to, bug audio on regency rd next to maccas they can't help, i went to an auto electrician he said they dont deal with this sort of thing. And now I will call up Adelaide exclusive mechanic today and see if they can help me!
