Sounds OK - thats why systems are pressurised after all, so they can run at over 100 degrees without boiling. Most thermostat valves don't even open until about 90 degrees anyway.

It uses an 82degC thermostat, so it should sit around 85degC while cruising. It can handle 100-105 but I wouldn't like taking it there, especially not with the original radiator.
Anything more than about 92degC while cruising and you have cooling issues that should be sorted.
*Note this does not apply to 40degC days with your A/C on. But even then if it got over 95degC I'd personally be worried.

Now sits in the middle...used to be 1 bar below before changing the thermostat....even with the A/C on.It had never been turned off until I moved to Victoria..Sheez it is cold down here !!

i've got a digital gauge on mine, and on a cool night on the freeway it sits at 77 degrees, but slow down for a few sets of lights and it will sit at 83. never really goes much aboive that.
and to put that into perspective, 83 degrees is 1 notch below halfway on the stock gauge.

im glad this came up cause mine seems to run hot aswell. my gauge sits in the middle like normal but opening the bonnet after a drive( not thrashing just driving round) the seems alot of heat radiating from the engine bay
