I have the UZ31 V8 engine, it is completely stock and runs very smooth. How many K's should I be getting? I got 350k's the other week to the tank (70ltrs) Cheers

Sooo, approx double what ewes are getting..............somethings not right methinks

ps; They're a 78L tank on a Snorer.

So much depends on where and how you drive. What you are getting may be quite reasonable in city driving but certainly not on open highway. Country driving you could easily get 700k out of a tank.

You will get the mileage you get unless there might be something wrong with your car in which case you should fix it and see what you get, or you could drive differently or somewhere else or in another car.

I do a good mix of highway driving and small trips.

If we're talking 70 litres of fuel i'd get:

550-600 driving like a grandma.
450-500 driving with enthusiasm

I also do a lot of driving (for work) and average around 480 - 500 in the city and around 600 country. As everyone says though, it depends a lot on how you drive but with the figures you mentioned you'd have to be mashing the loud pedal at every opportunity.

Thanks for the feedback guys, yeah I do all city driving. I don't put my food down much at all..
I used BP Ultimate, I have serviced it recently with a new filter, Penrite oil, and put in new NGK Plat sparks, reset ECU. Could it be because I drive with the Power button on? It's heaps smoother having it on..

I always drove with the PWR button ON, and Overdrive ON.
Mixed town & country driving.............a full tank would last me 6 weeks (about 700kms).

I drive mine too & from work each day about 8klm each way, then usually about 200klm on the weekend sunday drive semi rural.I have been keeping a record of the fuel consumption for the last 19,000klm it averages 8.41klm to the litre. Part of that record was a trip to Tasmania 4,000klm all up average for that trip was 10.12klm to the litre.I use 98 octane what ever brand where possible hope this helps.

I do all city driving as it's my daily car. Usually I get about 15-ish litres per 100Km, no heavy pedal at all, averaging about 55-65km/h speed.

I have a 4.1 LSD with the V8 and drive quite hard on a mix of open and city driving.

On average I would get about 400km's for 65L which is when I fill up again.

Bejimen, you've got a 31 so you probably have an EMV. You can use it to watch your fuel economy as well as how much you used on the previous 3 trips

Your 02 sensors could be cactus as well, that will cause terrible fuel economy, look into that.

I would also suspect your O2 sensors need replacing.

650kms on a trip for 70L is my normal sitting on ~110kph-115kph. best is 690 kms.

in the city, very low ~400kms.

i believ it is low in the city because they run rich. the management syetem is designed for japan where you have both snow and high altitude requiring a rrich mixture for smooth running. i dont think this can be changed.

I've had mine for 3 days now and i'm getting 8km per litre city driving and around 10-11km on the freeway. This tank has gone quite quickly as i've been pretty heavy footed testing all of the pros and cons but next tank will be all about testing economy.

Love the car though, especially coming from a VT wagon.

This is my best effort ever.

Most of those trips are cruising down Nepean Hwy at 60-80km/h.

If you are driving in a, lets say.... "spirited" style, expect 400-450km out of a tank.

Taking it easy on the highway I've done over 700km one one tank. I've done this once, and have not achieved this range since. My car is a stock UZZ30-L (USDM SC400)with a BFI. ECT PWR always, OD only goes on when I'm above 100km/h.
