Hi Guys,
I finally got around to getting a UniChip installed during the week. I got a roughly 10% improvement which was exactly what i was expecting, so I'm very happy. Car performs noticeably better right across the range.
Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to speak the tuner so I was wondering if anyone could help decipher my dyno graphs. I'm not really sure how to read the air fuel ratio. I *think* it says that pre UniChip (top line) it was running rich at around 10:1 under full load and that now it is running a bit leaner at a pretty consistent 13:1 ??
Engine mods are the 'big three': BFI, Headers/Exhaust and now the UniChip.
Engine has had leads & plugs, belts, dizzy rotors, bearings, plugs replaced in last year or two.
During the dyno run the car had dirty air filter (got a new one now) and exhaust leak where extractor bolts to head (think I've blown the gasket out) which probably robbed a kW or two.
All up, this is definitely a recommended upgrade..

Total cost was $350 fitted and tuned (plus cost of the 2nd hand UniChip - thanks Mike B. Oh and sorry it's not for sale )
AFR at 13 is about where it should be for optimum performance (according to the reading I've done since). I hope it doesn't ping!
Timing was advanced 6 degrees when Peter Scott got his done at the same place a few years ago, but I'm not sure if this was done or not since I didn't speak to the tuner. However, since this chip is the exact same one used in Pete's car back then it may have been left as is? Think Imight call the tuner for a chat.

Hey Ash how long have you had a puffer? Hmm.. would love to go for a spin and feel the difference another 70Kw makes. You ever near the CBD? I never thought I'd go for forced induction, but I'm already used to the extra power and i want MORE! Actually, Morpowa is 5 mins from my place if you wanna drop past after your tune up!

Hmmm I don't know... 4 months or something.
An extra 70rwkw just makes for mad wheel spin action. It's actually pretty bad when you just stamp your foot on the floor as the wheels don't grip until 3rd gear with the Torsen.
Not really near the CBD much any more but I'm at Mawson Lakes most of the time. Getting tuned at Fours N More on Tuesday night, the guy knows the adaptronics so we will see how it goes. Not really looking for more KW, just need to sort out a few gremlins that are in the tune.
Once you go FI you still want more, it's like a disease or something. I'd love to get a twin screw on there if I could fit it under the bonnet. But it look so pretty now all shined up, I don't think I could part with the Yella Terra.
I'll do you a deal. Take me a for a spin and I'll take you when it's all done.
