Sunday was the time to change my oxygen sensors - nice easy job.

Passenger's side was a piece of cake, but the driver's side lead was broken 200mm inside the insulated casing - too far up to be a joined.

Question: On a V8, where does the driver's side oxygen sensor come out at the top of the motor, so I can splice in a new long-enough wire?

Thanks

I think it comes from the main loom that runs from the back of teh engine and around the sides above the exhaust manifold

Lynton,I just replaced both of my O2 sensors on one of my 32's. The drivers side wire runs up bebind, and is bolted to the head or block.I also had to remove the top of the inlet manifold to replace the burnt wire. The wire was burnt out because the exhaust was leaking. This also stuffed the cat. converter,so check for an exhaust leak.

Thanks Kim, looks like a bit of awkward hard work.

My cat's and exhaust are ok and not leaking, I think when the extractors were put on it might have been done by a careless mechanic.
