Hi guys, I've started a new thread to finish off my earlier mystery. That is, why my car wouldn't start after the fuel pump had been replaced.
Well it wasn't the fuel pump. It was the timing belt. Not good. I think it's a given that a great many of the valves have been damaged. I only know of a few makes and models of cars where the timing belt going doesn't automatically mean damaged to the valves.
If the valves are damaged i'm not even sure if the car is worth fixing.
Does anyone have any knowledge in this area ?

Hi michael,
Thanks for the good news. I'll speak to the mechanic tomorrow about getting it replaced. In fact, i'll print off the entire thread you gave me and give it to him.
Just being cautious, but can anyone else confirm that the 1992 model V8 in non interference ? I haven't got my hopes up too high at the moment and i just want a second opinion before I proceed.
Many, many thanks again michael. You've just made my week a lot easier !!

Yes it is a non interference for certain. If you do go ahead make sure the water pump is ok ( alocking up pump is the usual reason for the belt to part.
