hey guys i need to change the valve springs i my v8 because they are opening up under boost. has anyone ever changed these springs without taking the heads off.

Same as any other Toyota DOHC.

Read up on changing valve stem seals (may as well replace them while you are there).

2 methods.

Fill the chamber up with compressed air to stop the valves from dropped, or fill it up with soft rope.

You can get a Toll that does it with the heads still on the Car .

Try getting in contact with Fred Burns from these forums, he has a 1UZ supercharges and im pretty sure has a tool that can do these with the heads still on :-)
