well as the title suggests, from yesterday it has progressively got worse. To the point that car wont go over 40Km/h up the slightest hill.

took it to a mechanic mate, and he reckons its blocked cat... getting heaps of heat... but dont get the cat overheated light on!

so dont know whats going on, was wondering would it be something else?

and if it is the cat, any suggested replacements? or can i have it removed and have no cat?

Sounds like a coil has failed or a coil lead, it is running on 4 cylinders instead of 8, have you checked the coils?

Remove the coil leads from the coils one at a time if the engine runs the same or wont start then that may be the problem.

Probably a good idea to change the coil packs anyway, as they may have caused the cooked cats.
