Hey,
Just posting to find out if many others have constant problems with their pulleys, bearings etc? I get noises constantly from either the pulley bearings, the bushes inside the pulley drying up and so on. I get them fixed regularly, but within a week, they're noisy again???
Anyone else have similar problems?
Can someone tell me how much it costs to buy new pulleys. I'm assuming the price varies as they're all different sizes.

Sean, are you certain you have replaced the noisy bearing? You might have changed a good one twice and not done the culprit. As Matt said, if you do everything then the problem should be over. One thing you could check is that the actual bearing is not loose where it is housed, i.e. it could rotate either on the shaft or within the housing.

It was done at Sports and Luxury here in Vic. I've had two bearings replaced in two pulleys, and both filled with silicone. I was told that the bushes inside the pulleys dry out after so many years, and silicone sorts it out.
It really only does it in the first ten minutes of driving, when they are cold.

Make sure it is not your belt squeaking as I have had the same problem. I wrote about this elsewhere and explained how the belt was not fitted properly as I have an extra 'v' on the alternator and the belt needed to be put to the very rear (next to the alternator), meaning that one of the tiny v's is able to be seen at the front.
