Hello people,
Got a question for fellow v8 owners: Does fitting extractors hurt highway fuel economy?
I have never owned an NA car before, except my old silvia which I shoehorned an RB30E into (which was quickly transformed into a RB30DET anyways), so I am not overly sure on how they will respond to modification.
Also i have searched a fair bit but no exhaust thread seem to have any reference to fuel economy, well not one involving extractors at least.

Kodie, I have fitted headers to my V8, however I didn't do it to get better fuel economy. But having said that, I would expect to get better milage (kilometerage?) because of the free flow of the exhaust gases. Certainly your economy will not suffer from this conversion unless you fit absolute crap extractors. But of course, there is the factor of driving harder because you have extra power that you want to use.

Mike,
I had assumed it would return better economy but I thought it best to ask as the main function of my car is a highway cruiser at present so I don't really want to lose any fuel economy.
In regards to the right foot, car is controlled by cruise control 90% of my commute so it shouldn't be a problem..... until the weekend that is, but that is a given!
