I i just ask will disconnecting my battery for a few mins to reset the computer help fix my following problem. My problem is once i get down to the dash saying there is 9litres of petrol left my petrol light comes on and buy the time it gets down to 8 litres of petrol it starts running out.Whats gets me is a few cars i've owned in the past when the petrol light came on you still had about 80k's of driving before they would run out.How many litres should be left in a V8 SOARER when the petrol light comes on? and once the petrol comes on how many k's should you get before you fully run out of petrol?.I know it's along post but i appreciate the time you have taken to read and answer as well hopefully

Seeing as you want a fix, "Common Fixes" would be a good place to start looking.

The dash light comes on at about 8-10 Litres left from memory, then you get a "bong" and warning light at 4-5 litres - at which point it just about runs out, so don't assume you still have much driving left. Hills and corners will affect the ability to pick the petrol up from the tank.

Yeah once you get below 10L the fuel light will come on and at 5L it will say empty.

In the Common Fixes area it has the proceedure to gain accuracy back in your fuel guage. Don't ever assume that just because it says you have 5L left that you do, even with a very accurate fuel guage general driving can influence the amount displayed and you could end up on the side of the road out of fuel because you were playing it close. I never let mine get below 10 just to be safe as you never know when you need to drive that little bit more, I always try to keep at least 1/4-1/2 a tank in it.

Note the soarer is not one of those vehicles that has a magical extra 200km's in the tank when you hit empty, it really is pretty much empty, get some fuel.

I never useally soon as it gets down to around 18litres i'll go fill up or put $40 - $50 anyway. It's just one night coming home it was fully storming bad [i should've whacked in some go juice] i thought i'd just make it and have to stop at the servo thats just right at the start of when you are coming into my town. But i was wrong because it was storming so bad at times traffic came to a full stop on the Hume Hwy.I was'nt far away at all but as you come to my exit it goes up hill alittle.I new if i put the foot down and tookmy exit once i got up around the bend it'll be alright cause i could've slightly rolled the 2k's at about 75-80k's as it a slight long down hill.Anyway once i was about to put my foot down i got stuck behind a lady doing about 80k's and i could'nt get round her so i did'nt make it and ran out half way up the exit.I remmember when i had a FORD when the petrol light came on you still had about 80k's of driving before they run out.I just wanted to know if SOARERS where like these but i've got my answer thanks all

Sorry about that Brenton i know sometimes i can go on alittle to much sometimes.Anyway my petrol light comes on at about 10litres buy the time it hits 8litres i ran out of Petrol.I've never heard a bong warning when i get low on go-juice [petrol] my fuel light just comes on at 10 litres then at 8 litres i'm out of petrol all togeather.I've also came home and the fuel has read that there is 16litres left. Then the next morning when i go the fuel says that there is 24 litres left from the amount of k's i've gotten when this happend worked out that i did have around the 24 litre mark. This has only happend a 2 or 3 times that i've noticed

when the gauge shows empty it should start flashing as well as the bong.

I can't be bothered reading it all either, but I suggest you check the tutorial for cleaning the tank sender unit.
