just changed, water pump, timing belt (condition was good)idler and tensioner bearings, disti covers (condition good) rotor caps, ( cracks at mounting hole but not too bad) plugs( still had original denso's good condition) plug leads, ( original but good) ,serpentine belt and bearings, rebuilt power steering pump and had alterator rebuilt, havent noticed any difference in performance etc, but condition of all original parts was amazing. ( i had inspected the timing belt a few times to make sure it's condition was ok.
key points I found are (I used instructions from soarer sites) 1) remove alternator before removing power steering pump. 2) remove ac compressor bolts behind the oil filter and loosen the rear mounting bolt behind the compressor. this allows the front engine covers to slide off easily. 3) when reassembling the power steering pump, gently tap home all the plates, especially the last one. the spring washer will not push the plate "home" and the pump will not work. i had to remove the pump to fix this problem. 4) have a 22mm socket welded to a 2m bar to get the harmonic balancer bolt off. you can also make a plate to bolt to the harmonic balancer with the other end sitting on the car chassis to lock the motor. 5) a "flat bar" type puller to pull the balancer off. 6) check, and recheck the timing after fitting the new timing belt. it is easier to fit the belt making sure all marks line up then slide in the tensioner pulley assy, then recheck the marks. 7) radiator does not need to be removed.
