Howdy all, hoping you can help me with a weird noise I have in my car.
Specs: Stock LMT V8 31 - airbags have been replaced with 30 struts
When: either with only accessories or full ignition.
Noise: there are two noises. I get a whiring noise sort of like a power radio antena raising or a power window raising.. only its coming from under the bonnet. This happens for about 4 seconds. Then i here a soft "Ka-chunk" on the left hand side of the car.. it sound a lot like the petrol hatch opening only a little duller.
Happens with AC on or off.
The noise repeats and does not stop. I can feel the "ka-Chunk" through the break pedal (like I do the sub woofer)
Any thoughts?
If having the radio at a normal volume for listening was a ten, this noise would be a 2 or 3

I am not sure that it is the TRC accumulator. I don't have TRC and I have heard my car do exactly the same thing. Definitely sounds like something pressuring up, but I never bothered to chase it down at the time.

SOryr about the delay, busy weekend.
Anyway opened up bonnet and located noise is coming from the device to the left (driver side) of the TRC box, and forward of the water bottle. Something underneath it it.
The "ka chunk" is coming from one of the hoses on the passenger side of the engine.

jol not sure about your description, but the trc motor is blow and forward of the brake master cylynder. ( if you have trc their will be an accumulator , about the size of a beer can, mounted vertically between the rhs guard and the master cylinder. if you are talking about to the front of the rhs front wheel, the compressor for the air suspension i think is in that area. have you done the checks from a previous thread of pushing the brake pedal and listening?

If it keeps doing it all the time then it is the same problem as mine - which I haven't solved yet . The accumulater pump just keeps cycling all the time, even though I have changed the accumulater. I now have a second hand pump to install and see if this fixes it.
