Hey guys and gals my mate Mike had broken down last night from the common problem of the top of the radiator cracking.
Here's my question.... What can we do to fix it??? Can we get a JZZ series radiator to replace it (is it a strait swap and are they the same as the V8 one's)??? Can we get it welded up as its a very fine crack and only about 1 and a half inches long? Do we just replace it with another 2nd hand radiator? Can we replace the top of the radiator with aluminium? Or do we get a brand new one from toyota or a custom one?
Bear in mind he is only just starting a new job and does'nt know when the next pay day is so cheap is the word for now....

hey had the same problem the hole top cracked straight across.Got a top made from alloy & it works great. You can plastic weld but as chris said it would be a temporary fix. best bit would be to replace top or get a fresh radiator, the one in the link chris has i have heard works pretty good.

I've had the same issue with the top tank cracking. Ebay was one of the first things which I have checked in which that time there were none listed. Toyota wanted the radiator for $1100 a new one or $150 for the top tank but I have to wait for 2 weeks for it. I had chosen the custom aluminium option as it cost me $800 for a 40mm thick version and it was made up in 4days.
