The overall power will be increased, but the increase compression will put more stress on the engine components as seen in later model 1UZ-FE's.

Of course, but keep in mind these early 1UZ's have stronger Rods and other internal components. The later ones when a bit weak due to the weight reduction they went through.

It's unbelievable how how far my mechanic pushed a stock 1UZ in his TT supra a few years back. Now though he has had to run larger head bolts, re drilling the in the block to keep the head on sealed tight they are using such a high compression coupled with the twin turbocharger setup. Recall its 14.0.1 with around 20PSI or so, quite insane, 400 and something rwkw. I forget exactly, must ask him when I pick up my head bolts later this week.

Later model 1uz's are still fairly strong. There have been a couple that have survived supercharging dispite the thinner and lighter rods.

Early model 1uz's have been known to support 400rwkw so adding a small amount of boost with an M90 isn't really a big deal.

Mike has he machined the head down to up the comps or is it a built bottom end?

Justin's 1uz was putting down around 400rwkw 100% stock unopened motor including heads, factory cams ect. His best base line figures were 330rwkw at 10psi not in a soarer though and the lighter driveline has probably provided a higher dyno reading.

Your actually right. The TOM's Celsior with the 3UZ-FE has a TRD supercharger option, I would guess the internals are left stock.

Wouldn't say no to a 260kw/559nm LS430/Celsior. Especially the one with the better lights... UCF30II type.. 2004-2005. Still holding their value for now.

What a nice kit by the looks of the small picture. Wouldn't be cheap!

Yes quite a lot, not sure how much, but by the looks of a spare head he had a couple of thousands off, pretty much at the limit. Same with the head ports, they have bored them to the point there they need to be careful of breaching the coolant cavities.

It's an impressive machine, I must get some details and pictures of it sometime.

The turbo/header manifold is like modern art.

If you are changing the compression ratio, it is well worth changing the cam profiles...

Yeah, see it will quickly get too complicated, so I will be leaving the CR as is.

Too much work for little gain.

Sorry for the blatant thread jack Mike, thought you might be interested to see what goes into a complete setup.

Yep it's priced to sell - this is the best priced setup you can get for the level of power increase.

Just incase anyone wants to know. Sold the charger setup for $2500 cash on saturday to a local Wellington guy.

Not sure if he frequents these forums or not - drives a white JZA80 with a 1UZ and W58 plate TRDTOY. Txtd me tonight to say he got the setup all installed and it worked out of the box with no drama's.

Hopefully he is going to come over on the weekend and take me for a ride. Great guy, good build quality on his car as well.
