If it needs re-gassing you've most likely got a leak.
I got some work done the other day at SLC and I asked about this.
Your looking at $140 for a gas and dye. Then there are about 3 typical areas where they can leak from. From there the cost can vary. e.g. $200 for new front hoses (each? - can't remember) to something like $700 for rebuilt air compressor, then if multiple leaks from hoses and compressor and condensor $$$, plus re-gassing etc.
BTW: These numbers are from my leaky memory, so best to call yourself, but that was the basic breakdown of work I got.

Yep Daniel, I got told $1100 for a new compressor ($700 for rebuild). Don't think that $1100 included fitting or gas, I will be double checking that when I start looking at getting aircon done. I got these numbers on Wed.
