Parts prices are quite reasonable. Don't forget guys the lead set comes with all the plastic bits and pieces. Labour isn't to bad either, and includes tow fees.

At the mechanics shops i've been to they charge $110 per hour +.
As for parts, you went OEM.
You get what you pay for. IE: You were lazy and someone did it for you, it still would have been $1100 if you did the labour yourself with all the same parts.
See everyone's advice here is mixed "Go OEM" and then they see a price and say "Duh you should have gone aftermarket/custom".
Also read my thread in mechanical TT. Then decide which of us paid more for their service.
Yours was $2050? Mine was $700. Mine isn't done two weeks later.

That was back in 2004 too, probably more now. Dealerships charge a lot more than the local mechanic. More overhead, accountants, dealer principals etc.

Labour was at fleet rates due to a quote
Car ran fine other than leaking coolant everywhere and the engine temp wasn't stable (thermostat stuck)
They didn't charge me for a new bolt on the air intake that was missing before, maybe they thought they lost it.
Just read Aidens thread and wow what a pain in the rear, mine is also my daily drive so I could never afford to have it off the road for so long as it was I had to wait for the leads to come from Melbourne.
I see no one has mentioned the km's on the clock yet.
