After replacing spark plugs and leads i now have no power.
I started the car, it ran for a few minutes and stopped. I have no dash light. No stereo. No emv. Steering wheel will not go back down. Battery is now dead flat but still will not power up with a jump start.
I can hear the fuel pump going in the back and the interior lights come on as does the chiming when the door is left open.

If it was starting ok before you took everything off i would be going over what you have put back on to make sure you didn't get a wire caught under a trim , I would be looking for power wires not the spark plugs wires . Was the battery ok before you started , if a bit sus get it load tested first . Strange to have lost the dash , EMV, Stereo and other things , I would be putting a battery in and not jump starting it .

Battery was fine until we disconnected it. once we connected it up again it slowly lost power. Now it is dead flat. Although when we had the loss of acceleration and got the car towed home the alternator warning light came on a few times and then stayed of, it is a new alternator.
The car started up and then just died, will remove all the trim in the morning and just check it, although we where very careful when we done everything back up.
Thanks Liz

Maybe get that battery charged up first (sounds like its got a dead cell),then have a go at starting it ...the other thing i have been thinking is a rotor arm cracked or carbon pick up in dizzy u/s. need to see the outcome with the battery thing first.

Ok removed all that i had put on yesterday, nothing wrong with that work. However i did find a thick cable with what looks like to cables in the harness.
Smaller wires running from it to the alternator the thick wires look like they are to screw onto something. Maybe the back of the alternator.
Hooked up one lead to the battery and one lead to the lose end of the lead and we now have power.
Could this be our problem , is this the main electrical for the alternator.
Have called the mechanic we got the alternator of and who installed it and they are coming out monday.
