There shouln't be any difference between the Gates and Toyota tensioners, but there are 24 different part no's for the Toyota Soarer tensioners. So you would need to know the build date of your soarer. Yeah, 6 hundy is alot to outlay. If it makes you feel any better I need one for my TT.($700) I think I might go 2nd hand

Is the 1JZ tensioner the same as the 2JZ? If so they go for about $110 in the US. You guys could probably buy them in the same place and split the postage.

The tensioner you are looking at in e-bay will not fit your car if you have a UZZ31 , what year is your . Thats for a later model engine by the looks . You need to look for one up till 1996 i think and that should fit .
