Hey guys i was just driving before and noticed the temp level creeping up and then eventually give me the warning light, i pulled over straight away and had a look seems to be water sprayed around the engine bay, so i filled the radiator up with plenty of water which leaked onto the road...
I came home and did a little research on here and it appears that cracks in the radiators are pretty common ? and that i should look for an alloy replacement.
My questions are, can the car be driven at all with the crack/leak ? i drive it like an old lady to work and back each day. this has only happened today and is not been driven since ( its still on the side of the road i don't want to risk any damage by driving it home) its less than 5 mins to get it home from where it is, is this safe ?
and does anyone know prices ect for getting a new radiator/ alloy one so i don't have this issue again.
Any info at all regarding radiators and overheating would be appreciated.
Thanks

If you check and verify that the leak is the top tank, then you should be able to drive carefully with the radiator pressure cap on the first stop only. This stops pressure build up causing the coolant to squirt out.
A new top tank is usually the simplest and cheapest fix.

If its a tiny crack, theres a repair kit you can buy, its pretty cheap and will fix the problem for a bit before you get it fixed properly. My sister did it for her supra.

Mine cracked 3 weeks ago, got a few quotes and had the top tank replaced and a clean out cost $209 trade price the other quotes were $280. Plus $29 for LLC to replace old coolant
