Hey guys, was just wondering if anyone knew what would cause your car to shudder as if there was people rocking your car side to side the rpm dropped and the "alternator not charging battery" message came up within half a second of the rocking then as quick as the symptoms came they disappeared, was sitting at the lights when it happened and have not had a re occurrence. Just worrying me as i am about to drive up to surfers paradise (800kms away)

yeah i was thinking that too Myles but i'm not too sure that is the problem as the warning message came on after the car dropped its RPM and started shuddering. the alternator won't charge if the belt isn't turning it. i will look into it though so thanks for the input Myles i do appreciate it
I had the same symptoms as that (but not intermittent) and had to get the coils replaced. The shuddering noise is the engine running on 4cyls, and the 'alt. not charging' error is brought up by this.
If its not doing it all the time it may be difficult to check, i'd get a mechanic to check it out.

I had similar problem on mine but the lights would pulse to the same engine high low beat...Replaced my battery and bingo all good again..weird as I had done a battery check and it seemed okay, but the lads at the battery shop said because they are so big the may not show signs of weakness unless on load all the time..ie running
