I was thinking a few moments ago... is is possible to use late model VVti cylinder heads etc on the older stronger short blocks from 1989-1994? Will the coolant/oil ducts line up?
Or would it just make more sense to get a late model 1UZ-FE and replace the bottom end internals with newer stronger forged internals?
Just curious as I like the idea of boosting a later model VVTi engine

Well I saw a VVTI that was pulled apart the other day, you do get the impression they would breath a lot better than the early ones.
I would assume any supercharger top mounting manifolds would be different again to the early 1uz type so need to be custom again.. thinking of that it makes centrifugal chargers seem more the way to go with those, so you keep the fancy intake runners and multiple throttle bodies. Power would be lost taking all those off I am sure!
