Depends on the model, the GT3 is built for the track low weight minimal interior, carbon fiber parts ect. Awesome car but I wouldn't live with it for a daily and it wouldn't be my choice for the ultimate track car.
The rear engine layout leads to a tail happy car. The polar moment isn't optimal, there is quite a lot of debate about which is the ultimate configuration but mid engine is the best just a matter of front mid or rear mid.
That being said the 911 configuration has been well refined and drives well.
Ali, the GT3 is the ultimate drivers car and up until recently was the fastest. I wouldn't buy a GT2 sure it has more power with the use of a turbo but it isn't the best driving car.

GT3 RS was built as the ultimate 911, this was porsche goal and it has been used in many racing series include a specific one make class in many parts of the world. It was the best braking best handling 911 ever made and it has been developed on the track more extensively than any other 911.
The GT3RS was described as putting the driver center stage.
The GT2 is extremely tail happy, 911's due to the rear engine (polar moment) are tail happy at speed but the GT2 is more tail happy than the GT3 from what I have read. I believe this is due party due to the turbo setup adding extra weight at the rear of the car combined with the non linear power delievery of a turbo.
Just checking the offical lap times on wikipedia, the GT2 was faster by less than 1 second on a 7 minute plus track it was also noted to have R spec tyres so taking that into consideration the GT3 RS is actually a faster car with the same tyres.
Also turbo's do not offer the same driving experience, sure they boost performance but the same power N/A is always better. The GT3 comes close in power to weight of the GT2 but over a long track like the ring with many long straights that gives the GT2 the advantage.
When building pure driving cars and race cars NA is preffered keeping in mind when money is no object.

The GT2 is as you have suggested a more sporty version of the 911 turbo. I think it was a little lighter so it is probably a little more tail happy at speed.
Due to the extra weight at the back end of the car the GT2 has a little better traction off the line particularly in wet conditions compared with the GT3, for this reason Jim Richards used the GT2 over the GT3 one year in targa when it was a particularly tight low speed rout and lots of rain was predicted. He came second to a GT3.

As per my previous comment extra weight at the back end of the car which makes the balance worse than it already is.
When you are ready to buy one drive both and make up your own mind.

Wasn't the GT2 RS the one that all the reviewers were claiming was trying to kill them by swerving towards trees at the slightest provocation?
I've only ever driven one 911, and it was a 1967 model, and I only drove it 30KM in busy traffic to a car show - and I was terrified I'd put a scratch in it - so I really can't comment on what they are like to live with - but I've got to imagine that having all that weight behind the rear axle would be a pain in the arse in the wet on your average pot holed country road.

Yep due to the weight balance the car was unable to put any power down at speed whilst turning ie on corner exit. The moment the driver tries to drive out of a corner the back end steps out.
It is a point a shoot car whilst still very fast due to very high power to weight it isn't a drivers car.

hey guys been busy as over the weekend was my birthday on the 20th but yeah exhaust is in and sounding mean, i dont have any recordings yet but i have a couple of pics i got with my phone while the car was still in the air. im going to get some clips of the sound she makes now. i can tell yall though almost no sound is made at idle or when crusing at 60,80 or 100km/h but when booted or taking off sounds like nothing ive heard before, and is bloody loud. performance is up alot over the entire rev range and when driving at night my temp gauge now sits closer to cold only one or two notches across from the C (think this due to the ceramic coating)

the thermostat sits halfway when im sitting still or starting and stopping, but after 2mins of driving above 50km/h it starts to drop till it gets to 2 notches off cold. if the thermostat was broken wouldn't the temp gauge not work at all?.

The thermostat is designed to regulate the engine temp and keep it at the standard operating temp which shows on the gauge as halfway.
At idle and stop start with no airflow the motor will run hotter so the thermostat will allow full water flow and when moving with a lot of airflow the thermostat will restrict water flow to keep engine temp up.
It's a $10 part and takes about 10 minutes to replace. Running the engine cold like that will increase wear and fuel consumption.

Mike - please think twice before making any more passive-aggressive statements about other peoples cars unless you have something to back them up with, or something constructive to say.
You are in your early 20's and seem to think because you have owned & worked on quite a few Soarers (with various results) that you have the final word on what is the best this, and the best that.
It gets boring to see you shoot down or buzzkill other Soarer owners enjoyment of their own cars.
Let's keep the forum a positive environment where we can all enjoy discussing our cars without the expectation of receiving a few undeserved negative remarks.
