true dual sound like a dirty old holden or ford v8 and im not trying to offend anyone but where driving a luxury import why make it sound like a pig? ;) anyways im trying to get the most performance i can from the exhaust mod which is why i have chosen a y or x merger pipe, which ever fits in better but would rather the y pipe to match the extractors. as for going with bigger pipes the reason i got the uz30 over the tt is i like the v8 torque and how low it starts in rev range. going with big pipes like twin 2.5 lowers bottom end torque and will make the car slugish off the line. have a look at v8 all supercars, nascars and most any NA v8 race cars exhaust setup they all run a merger either a y or x. all of them cant be wrong can they?

ps. lol not sure that it matters but the mufflers where by N1, there new zealand based mob

My friends dad has a 360 Modena and has a tubi on it - very loud, and a totally different sound to the 1UZ.

This 355 sounds incredible! - There are heaps of different options when it comes to the Fezzas. X speed in the U.S makes some very nice headers for them, Capristo also make excellent exhausts, and of course, everyone knows Tubi.

I'm partial to the 6.3 AMG Mercs, they sound off tap, along with the SLR's as well.

like i said id prefer a y pipe and unless blitz says the hiflow ressy wont fit, then ill go for an x. ill make sure to get a vid up on wednesday or thursday hopefully i can get the y merger, show ya'll what the 1uzfe was ment to sound like

I'll try get a vid up of my dad's 360, when he hits high rpm and shifts into the upper gear it feels like someone is kicking you in the back, that's how quick the F1 gearbox changes, sooooo quick!

Leon, X-pipe will give you the best sound!

Haha how is the F1 gearbox? I've only ever been in an open gated 6spd manual 360. Does feel like someones kicking you in the back too, but around a track, the F1 gearbox would be the way to go. Sounds awesome down the Great Ocean Road getting some heal and toe action! Tell you what though, I'd love a Challenge Stradale.

Customary photo of the 6spd 360. I'll have to put up some videos too Christian. When you get them into the upper rev range, the Ferrari Engines scream.

Leon, if youd don't want drone - get an X pipe as Christian has said. Gives you the right noise when you floor it, quiet all the other times. I've been told if you don't get an X pipe, or H pipe and have a true dual, it sounds more like an American Muscle car v8

the last thing i plan on doing is putting a true dual exhaust, and i think's it rediculusly silly to buy extractors then pay the cash for jet hot ceramic coating then go put true duals after them(kinda like buying lightwieght racing wheels then putting slippy tires becose you like the way they skreach when u corner) i want a single merger pipe after the cats like on the stock exhaust which im told will give both slightly better performance over an x pipe, a H pipe is a poor mans x but are still heaps better then no merger at all on the and make less sound at slight to mid throttle and sound more agressive after 4000rpms.

I got the Ceramic coating because of the silly underbonnet temperatures on the 1UZ. Specially on a hot summer day. The heatsoak on a stock engine is awful. They keep the engine cooler, and they don't rust! Not to mention look better too.

Audi RS4s and RS6s have no blancers, true dual :-)

BMW X5 V8 has no balancer, not sure about the M3 V8 But I believe it has quite a complicated special system hidden inside the muffler casings

As far as I have seen most Mercedes V8's have no balancers either, SL55's and what not, hence why they sound amazing.

On the other hand pretty much all new Holden HSVs have some sort of balancing system under the car, usually a dual in dual out muffler with an X inside. My last one sounded like a Stock VE- SS when I put the Magnaflow dual in/out mid muffler. Was 1000x better once I got rid of it with straight pipe.

Oh yeah, sweet. When its time for the next car - make him get a AM V8 Vantage!! Depends if that is his thing though I guess, but F 360 < AM V8 Vantage. Not many V8's sound better than those.

Funny that! The 360's are an awesome car, very well put together with a soundtrack to die for, superb brakes and awesome when you show it corners. Haha the 1UZ Soarers arn't half bad either. I think there is no real conclusion as to what is the best setup, it really depends on what you like, and there's nothing wrong with that.

360s are V8's by the way!

V8's are fantastic, but so are V10s and V12s, Going between them I dont see how you could down grade unless you went form a Lambo V12 to a Mustang 1990 302 V8.

all valid reasons but you must have been made aware that coating extractors with ceramics would increases the performance gains that your extractors give over the stock headers by first increasing how fast and precise the gasses can be moved away from the engine (by maintaining exhaust temp it also locks the density and velocity)wich makes tuned lengths work even better. the ceramic layers dont allow the pipes to transfer heat out of the gasses in them and because the exhausts heat is locked into the inside of the pipes until there past the firewall and that keeps the engine bay cooler which inturn lowers heat soak into the intake giving more power

Hahaha not a chance. :-)

I thought since both cars are worth similar amounts and are in a similar class it could have been another ideal option.

The reasons why he went for it over the Vantage do make sense though!
