when i put it into reverse i have to hold on the shifter so the light comes on and the reverse lights come on and the reverse beeping sound comes on. once because of this problem i didn't hold the shifter in position to make all the things work etc it was slipping in and out of park and reverse.
is there a way to fix this problem.
note: this is for my soarer

Have't heard of this one..

Sounds like the shifter mechanism under the plastic cover needs some lubrication, as it should lock into place, something may have jammed?

Otherwise something is broken... best to take it out and have a look.

My V8 does the same thing. It slips into gear fine but won't tell me if it's in reverse or not lol

I think it's gotta do with the reverse switch block.

You need to clean the switch block on the side of the transmission.

While your doing it can you do mine too
This will only fix the reverse lights and indications, and reverse camera etc. But it shouldn't make the car slip between gears.
Maybe you need to adjust something as well. Ive not yet looked at how this works on the soarer.
