Hi, thatthread says to top up with demineralised water. Does it matter if we just top up with tap water?
Does it matter if we use red or green coolant?
Both soarers currently have green coolant in them, but should i change it over to red (toyota) fluid?

Ignore the advice if you don't want your cooling system to last.

Most Toyota's use red coolant and I would'nt use any thing else apart from what is recommended and that would be the red coolant. I used normal tap water myself although demineralised water would be better but I don't have that stuff lying around hence why I did'nt use it.

Just buy distilled water from the supermarket. Couple of dollars for a 10 litre container. Make sure you get distilled not spring or mineral.

Hi, Just clarify what the metals are in the Soarer V8 cooling system are. Nulon RLLTU is not recommended for use in cooling systems that have a copper/brass radiator (in such vehicles, use Nulon LL, which is green). Seeing as the Toyotas run red coolant does that assume that they do not have copper/brass radiators? Cheers John

Why not just get the proper stuff and be done with it?

Toyota always have it. Make sure you buy the concentrate - much better value for money than the pre-mix.
