So I've got a catback system with 2.25" press bent piping to an x pipe and then 2 hot dogs (resonators) then 2.25" straight through pipes.

Thoughts?

I removed my Lukey mufflers and replaced them with the straight pipes. Sounds loud

If you like LOUD + droning, then this is the way to go.

Sounds like a good way to get stickered to me. Not to mention all the people calling you an asshat as you drive past them.

Actually when cruising it's quiet.

Got pulled up by Vicroads undercover the other night only cos they gave a warning of speeding a little but they didn't say nothing about the exhaust

Since when do Vicroads do undercover? Was it in conjunction with Police?

I drove through a boozy the other night with my 2.25" straight through no resonators or x-pipes (of which I was freaking my ass off) and just gently cruised off and they did nothing.

So I think it would be fine, it will have some loudness to it.

Anyone interested in swapping mufflers? I prefer a straight through design. I've got Lukey's offset, anyone?

I feel lag between 1500 and 2500rpm as well as vibrations and drone with the straight pipes. I love the mid range and high end noise it makes.

Is there a muffler that can make it slightly less vibrate and drone but still have a nice sound?

Lukeys are a straight through design, the offset ends are connected by a straight through perforated pipe.

It's the rest of the system that is at fault.

If the hanger straps that hold the exhaust up are under too much tension, then more noise is transmitted into the cabin.

Ideally, all the noise should only be out the rear of the car.

I guess I should keep the Lukey's then. Probably remove the resonators? Would that be more appropriate?\

It just sounded TOO tamed. And now it sounds nice but vibrates and a bit too loud. Hmm

I like my system. Headers make it loud when you want, but sedate under normal driving!
