I'll ask a family friend about the sts turbo systems. Pretty sure he was a dealer/importer of the systems into New Zealand for a while. He still has a V8 commodore with a single turbo system fitted.

Wow, I've always wanted a turbo kit without a turbo! haha

Nah good find Matt. Where would you put a turbo in the UZZ30? There's no room to even fit my hand anywhere!

Is it a lot of effort putting the relocating the battery to the boot? Yer i was thinking of selling the V8 and getting a TT, simply because the car i got now has 205k Km and want a bit faster Soarer

What do you guys think? V8 Turbo? or TT?

V8 turbo, you wont regret it! as is, stock the TT only pushes out a tiny bit more power, a single turbo on the 8 will give you a smile, possibly from the sheer G-Forces hahaha
But yeah, my personal preference would be turbo the V8.

If you want to fit a turbo to a V8 and youre worried about relocating the battery to the boot being "a lot of effort" you should probably stop there...

To answer the original question, there are numerous turbo'd V8 Soarers both here and in the US and many more turbocharged 1UZ's in other vehicles. Google is your friend...

Oh and a 1JZ wont hold a candle to a serious boosted 1UZ

4 litres > 2.5 litres :-)

I wouldnt know, they never get in front of me to find out ;)

Hahahahaha.

You want something easy to make easy power ??? Go the TT . Want to invest alot more money and time, Turbo the V8 .

Dont want to worry about mod plates and engineers , TT all the way . Happy to follow the correct ways and get it legal , Turbo V8 .

Ultimate potential ???? 1UZ any day . Practical answer with easy potential ?? TT JZ .

Make 260rwkw and have an 11 second potential daily driver for less than $4k in mods???

My TT does that !

Your right about the cost, but when you start talking about those kinds of power levels a UZ will be the better-performing engine no risk, particularly as a daily driver

Look at any dyno graph of a TT making 260, 300 or more rwkw - almost all of them make less than 100rwhp under 3000rpm, and dont start to make any power until around 3500rpm

You dont have that problem with a UZ - 10:1 compression and over 1 and a half times the capacity makes sure of that

Also their redline comes in quicker too.

The RPM doesn't mean anything - at 3000rpm a motorbike barely is moving - at 12000rpm they've left you by and far dead behind.
