Hi, I need to replace my serpentine belt on my V8 Soarer, Peter's link on this maintenance job is broken so wondering the best way to proceed. Should I order one from the U.S. and if so where from, if not then where from in Australia? Are all serpentine belts created equal? There is some noise in the idler/tensioner pullies so what about getting them too?

Nothing wrong with a Gates belt.

I took the belt and tensioner and idler off and got replacement bearings and a belt at Repco.

Had to press the bearings out and in again.

I would just buy the belt here. Toyota should have them in stock if you wish to buy OEM. The Gates belts are fine to use as well for an aftermarket replacement.

Like what Matt has said If you wish to change the tensioner and idler bearings take them off and take to a bearing place. Bearings don't cost much and you have to press out the old and press in the new. The belt itself to put back on is pretty easy and it has an auto tensioner so you don't have to tension the belt at all.

I followed this tutorial Peter and got the belt and bearings for idler pully and tensioner pully, for $60 from Repco and CBS bearing services at trade price as per Scott's suggestion, Great, Cheers John
