Hi helpers, I have waited till the orange petrol bowser light is on and I have only a dribble of petrol left before I try to take my fuel filter off but alas it won't come off!! I have undone the clamp that holds it thinking that this might be stopping the line from moving and thus coming out of the filter but no, it must be something I don't understand that is stopping the line from coming out. I can crack the seal on both ends and start to unscrew the line and then it binds up, both ends. I have good fitting spanners, 19 mil and 14 ml and fear that if I force it something might break. Who can help? Thanks in advance, John

I decided to persist with some duck bill Stilsens and finally got the line off the filter and found that the thread had flattened out and was binding, not sure how this would have happened as the filter was genuine Toyota, so the threads should have been matching. I went to a tool shop and found that a 1/4 bsp die nut would cost be $68 trade!!! A friend suggested a mutual friend had a big tap and die set, bingo. But what a job to reform the threads on the fuel line nut. Finally succeeded with the help of my duckbill Dowidat Stilsens. No leaks. Also did the tank sensor unit at the same time to get my fuel gauge back to normal I hope. Cheers John
