Ok here's what's happening distributor rotor on left bank shattered, on inspection of that notice that water pump is leaking so decided to change the lot, water pump, all the pulleys with bearing, tensioner, timing belt & distributor rotors. Got the job done. A month before all of this the catalytic converter light started to flash at high RPM's near redline. i notice that at 4000rpm the lights on the car will get brighter straight through to rev limit. so while getting water pump changed decided to take alternator in for overhaul replace EVERYTHING inside of it.
car is up & running now but lights are still getting bright as rpm grow from 4000 to rev limit. when accelerating from stand still to 50km it's all good but at 51km car back's down engine looses power & catalytic converter light flashes on. what could cause lights to get brighter with high rpm's? what would cause engine to back down when at 51km's?

lights can only get brighter if voltage increases. TIf you put a voltmeter across the battery and rev the engine, you should see the voltage increasing when the lights get brighter. The regulator cannot be working correctly.
This higher voltage could?? cause your other faults.

Ok found out what was causing lights to get brighter with higher RPM's battery had a cell so getting a new battery.Pulling off front covers tomorrow to check timing once again.
