Hello all, i successfully fixed my former problem of a looping idle by cleaning the IAC valve and am now moving on to the next problem The issue that is happening at the moment is that it is idling low at about 800-900rpm in P and N but when changed into a drive gear or reverse it is stalling. Does anybody have any ideas on what could be casing this issue?? Thanks

My car was running weird, missing and stalling occasionally. I eventually found the throttle body was filthy and the accelerator cable was really loose. Cleaned throttle body and adjusted accelerator cable and now all is well. Doesn't hurt to give this a go as it's easy and cheap.

I actually sprayed a can of the subaru upper engine cleaner into it when i took out the IAC valve and some extra carby cleaner for good measure to try and remove some of the carbon, surprisingly didn't blow as much smoke as i thought, I will have a look at the vacumn hoses (any idea on how many there are?) And also take out the ecu and have a look at it/ try and get a replacement/test unit. Thanks for the advice too

If you can find an ecu, let me know if they have more than one. I have been looking for one too, but so far no luck. I wanted to start refurbishing one for the day that mine eventually dies.
