Hi all,

How does one remove the serpentine belt tensioner?

Not slipping or rubbing anywhere and seems fine except for the noise.

It seems to be making some noise (kinda like a diesel engine sound) and squeaking a bit when grabbing the belt to cause the tensioner to move.

Already replaced both the bearings in the tensioner and upper pulley and rest of the bearings seem quiet.

Cheers for any help.

You have to remove the front covers from memory, which unfortunately means removing the harmonic balancer.

its the serpentine, not the timing belt. are you sure you need to remove the harmonic balancer?

Ok thanks guys, Looks like both top and bottom left side T-belt cover's have to come off as well as unbolt the alternator to get it out.

I know the part number should be 16620-50020 from memory but was wondering if there is a newer part number that's compatible as have seen fair few on fleabay.

Don't even bother with going to a dealer as it's something crazy like $500

Check CMI for a price, they are very good to SC members - cheaper than the interstate dealers by a noticeable amount.
