I've recently acquired a custom cutback dual exhaust which o had intended to fit this week. However I noticed at front of exhaust on both sides the receptacle for the temperature sensor has been welded up. After searching I'm fairly sure the oxygen sensor is before the cat and that the temp gauge is there to indicate whether cat is blocked.
My questions are; 1.does the temp sensor feed information to the e.c.u or any other system crucial to the car running properly? 2.what will happen if I run the car with exhaust and temp sensors not fitted? Thanks in advance . Will cat warning light remain on?

Wess, I have a full system on my car and have had the CAT temp sensors disconnected for over six months and have not seen one issue or warning light, the only thing that should be required for the car to run properly is the Oxygen sensors which are before the cat. To remove the cat sensor you just have to lift the carpet and un-clip the probes.

Jay, no resonators. I picked up the exhaust complete. full dual 2.25inch, Central dual in/ dual out muffler up front (sits where the old stock resonator used to sit. ) No balance or xpipe. Rear mufflers are large stainless units of unknown manufacture. Vulgar 4 inch tips I'll replace at some stage. It's fairly quiet at idle with noticeable burble. Discreet under normal use. Perfromance noticeably improved. Roars under acceleration, even more noticeable with bfi.
