I lost 4 cylinders on the way home, hopefully only a coil. Anyone know the part number for Repco or Supercheap or any other outlet that sells them in Perth?

Thanks

How do you know if you've lost 4 cylinders on the way home?

Thanks guys, I will see if I can locate a coil today. I am hoping its a coil and not something else, two coils run 4 cylinders each, two cylinders on each bank. It sounds like an old tractor and has no power the unburnt fuel causes the exhaust to glow red hot, you will know if it happens :-(

measure the coils before buying one.

the primary(has the 2pin plug attached) measures 0 ohms

from any of the primary pins to the ht out measures `12K OHMS.

You can see them laying on the road behind you??

I've had this happen to both our soarers, i'm thinking it's pretty common.
It's an easy fix too though. The top one is just removing the cover, and then 4 screws..
The one on the right, just a couple of bolts and then the same 4 screws again.. but you can easily check if it's the problem by unplugging 1 at a time. Unplug 1, and see if the car starts, if it does (and runs like crap still) then plug it back in and check the other, if you unplug the other one and start the car, (doesn't start) then you know the other one is faulty.
