hi guys does anyone know what the 1uzfe radiater caps pressure should be?
ive done a search but cant find a pressure anywhere just buy genuine.

reason i ask is i replaced mine 3months ago and it seems to be letting small amounts of water out but the car is running fine and never hot etc.

im doing my water pump and timing belt so want to smack it all in 1 go and fix it once so to speak.
cheers

Mine says 88kpa, are you sure it's the cap? I have had very fine cracking on the top tank and was hard to notice at first. Good luck with the T belt, be fine as long as got all the right parts.

Daniel, just my 2c but while you are at it you could try and put a TRD thermostat in too. I got mine from North Shore Toyota here in Auckland in NZ, considering the exchange rates you might be able to get a good price. Look them up on the net and ask for Nick or you could try a Toyota dealer over there. I got a Thermostat, Radiator cap and coolant, the part numbers are: T16340-SP050 - Thermostat T16401-SP030 - Radiator cap T0888980085 - Toyota coolant 2L bottle. Car runs nice just below half when cruising and keeps things cool if you ever give the thing a hiding.

Swapped back to my old cap no change so started pulling things off..... turns out as follows-
rear heated hose leaking of head link pipe
Rear head link gaskets leaking
Front headlink gasketsleaking and oring on pipe
Radiater 10% blocked
waterpump half bolts finger tight and leaking.
The car had all these leaks and I couldn't find them so must of been boiling water off.
Only had it for 6months and car was always serviced at a southport mechanic
So car is now pulled down and sending heads to get checked. Might as well go the whole hog and do everything. My luck I'd put the car back together and headgasket would go.

If a 1uz has a leak because it runs on a pressure would it keep trying to preasurise and end up with higher pressure?
