hey guys and gals,
im currently pulling down my 1uz to give it a freshen up.
and was wondering im looking at getting a full rebuild kit but was wondering if i should get a metal headgasket?
ive always used them even in std engines i dont know why but i have always gotton one lol
any reason not too?

You can try Cometic gaskets if you like .

no real point in getting an aftermarket headgasket if you will be keeping the engine stock

For now stock cams manual and charger layer in year gathering bits and bobs.I was going to rebuild my spare 1uz for the charger but this motor is in good nick so ill just use this one

I would use stock head gasket , know of a few people that have used Cometic head gasket and they leaked water . I for one had this problem . Put stock gasket back on and no more problems .
