Hey guys,
I've always had the idea of dropping a 1UZ engine in my car and slapping a turbo on it while retaining all the stock features ( p/s, ac etc) . Would love the v8 roar with external gate! Not to mention the response. End goal is to have a 1UZ r154 turbo.
Main question's are: 1. Would it be easier to start off with a 1UZ Soarer? 2. Could I drop the 1UZ with not many complications?
I'm looking for the most cost effective way. Currently have a Manual TT with all supporting mods for at least 400rwkw.
I've listed down a few things that need to be done for the Manual 1UZ conversion : 1UZ to r154 bell housing 1UZ flywheel Power steering/ AC lines ECU (Have an aftermarket Link ECU) Exhaust Radiator Engine mounts Crossmember? Engine to dash loom
My main concern is the wiring to the dash. What are the difficulties behind this?
Might be missing a few points up there please feel free to add anymore.
All speculation at this point but would love someone to shed some light on this as it may become reality.

Cause you have to engineer it with the engine swap as well as turbo . Easier to start with a 1 uz factory car . Then go from there . Wiring and everything is all there ! So much easier

Daniel, Not looking to engineer it at this point. But I don't think Vicroads requires a Engineers cert as 1UZ is an option allowed by the manufacturer for the z30.

You would have to engineer as that chassis did not come with that engine size . Also insurance could be an issue with claims if you haven't dotted all the t's . There's alOt of changes coming aus wide regarding mods and engineering . Jzz vs Uzz .
That would be my guess
