the OEM part number system is not exactly easy to understand! It looks like I nee a whole new unit including the low level sensor When I squeeze the top water pipe water comes out around the black rubber cover in the front left corner of the top. It was suggested that I could get a new one from Amayama.com but after putting in all the details it gets extremely confusing
The part is I believe
TANK ASSY, RADIATOR RESERVE part # 16470-50040 but it is unclear if this is the complete unit can someone assist?

Another question. I see references to the 100,000 k service on the cars is this for both the turbo cars and the V8. and is it something that needs to be done again at 200,000 k. I found this
http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/51876/353277.html?1326581106 is it the sort of thing I should be doing as the next 100,000 rolls round?

16482-50040 is tank with no sensor, approx 130 dollars through Amayama

16470-50040 and 16470-50041 are tanks with sensors, and are about 170 dollars,
plus postage, you would need to check with amayama which no's are current and how much postage is.

Get the one without sensor and it won't ever leak again.

Or get the one with the sensor and it will tell you if you're low on coolant and won't leak for another 20 years.

I bought a new one with sensor, started leaking again inside 2 years. If the tank didn't leak, I wouldn't have needed the level sensor.

Self fulfilling..

Except for a leaky hose, or a leaky plate on the block or a myriad of other things.

I bought a new one with the sensor 7 years ago and it's still fine with no leaks.

So between you and me it's a 50/50 chance to fail in 2 years. :-)

Or get one that can't fail.

So I'm about to get a new coolant tank.

I've been repairing the upper 2/3 of the tank with epoxy for the last 6 months and the bottom has started to leak(slow).

Should I get with? or without sensor?

My 94 soarers do not have the sensor and neither leak. I would stick to the old KISS principle.
