Hello all I have had my V8 Soarer for about 5 months and decided a few weeks ago to degrease the motor. Quite a bad mistake upon reflection as it has caused a quite a headache.
Problem was some water go into the back two spark plugs, my mechanic friend cleaned them and put them back in. Then my friend told me that car was using the wrong spark plugs.
Upgraded them to NGK platinum which aren't cheap, had him check the leads for water which looked fine to him and the car ran fine for a while with the NGK platinums and now there is a small miss when your stopped at the lights.
The miss affects the car when it takes off, like its hesitating but once it gets going it drives as it should. Weather permitting I'll try to reset the ecu tonight to see if it solves the problem. My thought was that the ECU was reset on the old spark plugs (NGK Iridium) so that's maybe why it idles funny.
So please any help from the Soarer guru's out there or somebody else that has encountered this problem will be greatly appreciated as it has got me quite upset that my beloved Soarer has run into this problem. If you can give me some advice I can get my friend to re-examine this annoyance of a problem.

Iridium plugs are more expensive than platinum, Iridium gives a better spark and work well even with a leaner fuel mixture. So maybe by resetting your ECU to compensate for the different spark plug charateristics will solve your problem. It won't hurt.
I washed my engine not long after I bought it, a week later and $400.00 I had it running again. Plugs, leads, dizzy cap and a rotor. Try a ECU reset and then test the leads if it still misses.
