Hi guys, just bought my soarer about a week ago. looks like shes been sitting for a while, as i found a rats nest right smack bang in the middle of the engine, under the inlet Manifold. this is my second soarer. my first soarer had coil issues and i know what that sounded/felt like. not like this. i gave the engine a steam clean the first night and let her dry out and checked the plug holes. Disconnected the MAF and she still does it.. but not as bad. changed fuel filter cause it feels like its starving. anyone have any clues??

Ok so i pulled filter sock out the tank. Was pretty filthy, cleaned it and put it all back together and test drove it. Still the same. Try'd fuel pump ecu bypass. Still same issue. Talking of batteries, i did get the low voltage warning on the emv the other night. I stopped and restarted and havn't had it since. Apon diagnostics test i got the code E1 anyone know what this means.. Iv searched and searched.. Is it even a fault code? Also i can hear that one cat is rattly. But don't have access to the hoist till mid week to drop the exhaust off and check them out.

If you can start it in the dark and look at where the white line in on the Distributor to see if its shorting ,I would be checking the plugs to make sure you still done have any water in the holes , been there done that after washing engines .

hahaha..... well um fuel guage... turns out the soarer holds around 15 litres when it starts to cut out. my old soarer just died without warning when it ran out of fuel. this one on the other hand will still drive with very light throttle but cuts in and out with a harder pedal pressure or more. so anyway i have to replace the module in the tank im guessing. wow i feel stupid.. i even put fuel in it a few times thinking it was the prob but didnt take into account the amount i was actually getting for my money.. didnt realise 98 is 1.70 a litre or more sometimes. lucky its the missus's car.
