r/h coil keeps heating up gets very hot after about 5 min.does that mean crossed wire in harness.

they all get hot. why do you think yours is extra hot?


measure the primary, between the 2 pins in the plug, should be 12k ohms

The coil has a big split on the bottom not sure if it from wear and tear or heat should both coils heat up at the same time.

Also i would like to fit a supercharger who would be best to see I dont know if anyone on the central coast could do this?

do a search on here for neil griffiths down canberra way for the supercharger.

if the coil is split, i would replace it. If it craps itself, you are operating on 4 cylinders and if you keep driving will also stuff the cat convertor.

If it's getting hotter than normal it may develop a problem..

Which Coil exactly is it as R/H or L/H Depends what way you look at the car.

If it's the one near the passengers strut tower are you sure it's not Engine heat that is getting to it making you think it's hotter than normal?

The coil may be shorted inside causing it to get hot.
