Ah right I've just read up on it... only the vvti 1J's are OBD2... For you it's easier, no tools required... just close the test circuit and read error messages off the dash. Have you done that yet? Others might have called it "reading error codes" or something...

When I try to do a diagnostic and join either TE1 and E1 or E1 and TC and TS (it seems like either of these are fine for diagnostics) I just get the blinking on the dash and then a message in Japanese like: ... TPJ and E1 but not quite, that is an effort to match the Japanese. What does that mean? Nothing else comes up? What am I doing wrong or is that telling me that there is nothing wrong?
