Not the first or last time that this question has been asked, so here it is.. After just replacing my hydraulic fan motor with a non leaking replacement, a new alternator, a rebuilt power steering pump, new genuine thermostat/gasket, & a complete coolant flush & changeover to Toyota Red coolant completed just a few days ago, I started the car today & within a few minutes of it running have acquired a leak from the obvious one & only location as seen in the photo. Whether it matters or not - the leak was not apparent a few days ago when everything was put back together & up & running.
So I suppose it's safe to assume that the water pump needs replacing then judging by the leaks location? I'd like to strip it all down right now to check it out, but I still need the car to be moveable until I go ahead & buy the 100,000 km service kit.
G'day Tom, thanks for the heads up on it. I stumbled across a thread where it was mentioned & you are on the ball. I'll check it out tomorrow, I sort of just assumed it could of been the pump as it seems to be leaking directly down the middle of the front of the engine. Definitely worth a look though, could be in luck.

The blokes who changed my V8's timing belt/waterpump during the 100k service botched the job first time and had to have another go at it. Sucks, but that's life.
