I want to test what fuel pump pressure is getting to my fuel rail. Has anyone done this and how did you connect a fuel pressure gauge to the rail and where abouts did you connect to?

You can take a pressure reading from anywhere between the fuel filter and the pressure regulator... there is no optimal location; they all give the same pressure reading (variance will not be worth worrying about, though it does exist at high flow rates, where the duty cycle is very high!)

thanks for that diagram Matthew and explaining that the fuel at the reg just goes back to the tank, that is clear. My question is: If you just measure fuel pressure without being under load, will it be true or does it vary when you are full throttle and full load?
