hey guys, does anyone know where i can buy a vaccum switch thats on the p/s pump of my uzz30. it has like 2 vaccum lines coming off it and i think a 12 or 14mm nut around it to actually get it off/tighten it up.

ive been looking at the toyo diy diagrams i think the part number is PNC 1763D which is in
http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_1992_TOYOTA_SOARER_UZZ30-ACPVK_4503.html that diagram.

ive called toyota but they have been giving me the run around saying they have called japan for a answer but toyota japan havent gotten back to them.

anyone know anybody who does a aftermarket option

hi rhys, you can just block all the lines.
IE. block the line out near the thermostat, and also the line in to the throttle body. The effect it has on the power steering is minimal.

Except possibly if you don't have your air con switched on so that the idle is increased when there is a strain on the motor on full lock parking manoeuvres.
That is, apparently, what those lines are for, to increase revs under power steering load.

correct john, the vacuum is to increase rpm when PS is at max. Not really needed.

sorry, but talking about blocking the vaccum lines correct? the actual switch is leaking p/s fluid not air/vaccum.

I would try a wrecker Rhys, as they are expensive new and I think your problem is a one off, I haven't personally heard of it before anyway, maybe someone else has. Best of luck.

Or maybe you could take it off and have it welded, it is aluminium isn't it, mine on my 32 is at least, 31 isn't home to have a look?

It is steel & mine is welded. Those lines are good for nothing so don't worry about them.
If the plastic screw-on top is smashed it can leak but pretty rare. It may pay to check if the fluid is running from another part of the pump, these pumps are the stupidest part on a 1uz.
Also if your bothered you could make up a small cover for the alternator so it doesn't fail later.

Rhys, block the vaccuum above the thermostat and also the input to the throttle body. Replace the switch with a short bolt, or block the lines into the switch with screws as well.

It is only to slightly increase revs on full steering lock.
