I'm in the middle of rebuilding the steering pump as it dropped it's guts about 2 weeks back (uses about a reservoir full every two days!).
Only in the beginning stages, and I have idiotically rounded the last freaking bolt beyond standard removal with a socket. See the write up on Planet Soarer, 2nd photo (http://planetsoarer.com/Power%20steering%20pump.htm). Every single bolt has been removed except for the top bolt of "F". I've done everything I could think of for maximum space to get to the bolt (air intake assembly and alternator removed, coolant reservoir and steering lines moved out of the way etc) and still cannot get the damn bolt off. It's being a cnut of a bolt to remove.
Any suggestions to remove this bolt? The rest of the job seems to be a walk in the park lol. Thinking to use some JB Weld or Araldite and use a sacrificial socket to essentially fuse the rounded bolt to something with more grab (who needs the imperial system anyway).
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
** Side note, it looks like the pump has been replaced previously by a previous owner as the alternator is caked in oil yet still charges fine and one bolt (bottom bolt of "F" ) is missing.
