Especially when the second time around you get the car back out a tooth its time to take matters into your own hands. Before you attempt this you should look at the tutes and get a good idea of how the tensioner works and how to remove the covers and dizzy.
I was told the radiator and a heap of other stuff would have to be removed. This is not true. The tensioner is easily accessible from under the car. I did not jack it up just drove it on ramps. I did use a jack to give me a bit more room when I put the tensioner on. Not necessary though.

B) Take covers off. Spark plug cover should already be off to see incorrect timing, dizzy cover. Then distributor cap 3 bolts (8mm) and distributor rotor (8mm).
The above pic was taken when I had already fixed timing as you can see.

C) Make sure you are already on top dead centre (TDC). Only turn the harmonoc balancer clockwise. This should really be your first step. Now jusy double check thats its where it should be.

D) Now for important part. Mark belt against the the housing white mark. You will see the cam if its off or not. Mine was off one tooth to the left on drivers side. This is important because when the tension was release the cam moved out by a fair bit and I could have easily lost my position and put it back on wrong again. When I put it on it looked a bit out but when I put the tensioner on it lined up like in the pic.
Above pic is correct timing and taken at end of job.

E) Undo both 12mm bolts evenly until the tensioner comes off. Don't bother trying to get it to the last threads though it might work it probably won't and its best to tension it probably.

F) Adjust cam with racket to line the marking up with the mark that we made on the belt in step D picture.
G) If you are too tight like me to get a vice two g clamps will do the trick. One was to stop it moving off the clamp. Compress it down and place a small allen key in the hole to keep in compressed. Compress it slowly over 5-10 minutes!!
H) Bolt tensioner back up and take out Allen key. Now go around a few times and check timing and belt tension.
I) Start putting back together. Car should sound normal.

Yeah does feel good. I might have a go at this myself in 100,000kms. Or maybe I'll do the 1jz timing belt as I've heard its about half the job of the 1uz.
