Hi, anyone had the problem where if you hold your gear lever when coming to a stop you can feel it move forwards? and I honestly think I can see it move when not holding it.

motor & auto mounts are new if that helps.

My issue was the auto mount.

exactly what I thought, and you can't just stuff up installation of the motor & auto mounts can you?

you have new engine and gearbox mounts fitted. Have you rechecked them to make sure all nuts/bolts are tensioned correctly?

Does the engine twist a lot when you pump the accellerator. (car in N)

I didn't do the install myself, but wouldn't the mounts be plate to plate contact with the actual rubber between them? I'll have to get look then.

yes to rockauto.com for parts.

Depends what kind of movement you're talking about.

If under moderate to hard braking it moves, this is normal.

I've got brand new OEM mounts on both cars and they do this.

The design of the shift rod to the gearbox also means any movement of the engine/gearbox is going to pull on that rod.

If theres no movement, it generally means the engine mounts have gone hard / contacting with the stopper plates they have fitted.

It does this when coming to a complete stop from a complete push of the brake pedal even when the car is moving from being put in D without giving any gas.

If it's not doing any mechanical harm to the car I won't mind then.

Mine auto mounts we so bad that at idle and low rpm I could hear a whiring sound from inside the cabin. I thought it was engine related. Also the stick rattled a lot while crusing. The car became so much quieter and smoother when it was fixed. Didn't realise how bad it was until after it was fixed. The difference was huge because the mounts were so rooted.
