I recently replaced my coil packs but it appears I've cooked the original Toyota Cats.......what are the chances of me finding some other used originals that are OK or am I just better off buying some brand new aftermarket ones? Any suggestions on aftermarket ones? Thanks

you could be lucky like me and find some really cheap used ones on ebay/gumtree etc but it's a luck of the draw maybe check on the price of some cheap U.S spec ones

Oem cpi is 400 , mine were $150 each, gutting cats is the easy and cheap way, but if the EPA boys put a sniffer on your car you are gone. There have been advances in cat converters in the last 23 years and the steel substrate in these cats flows well as it cleans the exhaust

No not the red one it was a lemon and did not last long, I have a 92 model 31 which belonged to Ron Basset/Barry Anderson, same person, it has extractors, cats, x pipe, hotdogs, Magnaflow rears, it was gutless, a check of the paperwork I was given at sale showed that the exhaust had been on the car since 2001, Google ceramic cats you will find they block easily because of their design, so we're replaced, voila some power

The guy you would have spoken to brought it into the country in 2000, gave it to his 85 year old FIL in 2010, when maintenance ceased. Odometer showed 185000, but on inspection ,after I picked it up, it had a pre 1994 speedo cluster without outside temp, suspension sport setting , cruise, etc The whole car felt tinny, no power, ( probably 300000ks), many rattles, tramlines badly. Was prepared to give up on Soarers until I stole this one off Barry SC coming shortly.
